So much of the feedback I received from my groupmates will help me in the future- I’m grateful that we all got along so well and had the same direction and ideas. I also appreciated the writing we worked with- the Profile piece wasn’t like the Feature that had strict and formulaic rules. I loved the medium of writing this sat in- I felt more attuned to writing this time around because of the creative liberties we were given. Professor Miller asked us to paint a picture for the audience, which I heavily leaned on. Breaking into smaller groups was also helpful for the hands-on experience since we knew what to look for in our pieces since we’ve been through peer review several times over and in different classes. Most of what we discussed was about rearranging sentences/paragraphs or basic grammar. I was told I had a great number of quotes, and since we’ve all been working together over the latter half of this semester, we were all able to give good feedback without sugar coating. Helping others with their writing came naturally to me since I am a tutor in English for the university- it was great being able to fall back on and utilize those strengths in a class setting amongst people my age and in my class. I felt so helpful, as were they.
